Katalin’s weight loss leads to a confidence gain!



Katalin thought she would never find the determination to stick with a diet until she joined our online Gi plan. She tried to make changes to her eating habits but felt she couldn’t do it without a support network to encourage her when motivation was ebbing.

Then she discovered our online plans and realised she was not alone in her weight battle. It was reassuring to know other people had the same insecurities and weight issues as her. “Before joining the online plans I tried to eat less, and eat healthier foods. But I did not have the strength without support; I could not find a diet that worked for me until the Gi plan.”

In addition to the constant support Katalin received, she found the meal plan easy to follow and more like a healthy eating plan than a restricted diet. “The plans focused on healthy eating unlike the previous diets I have embarked on.”

And what spurred Katalin to join the online diet in the first place? “When I reached 11 stone 9 lbs and saw photos of myself I realised I disliked all of them. I knew that I was not strong enough to loose weight without help, but I was disgusted with how I looked.”

Now Katalin has lost a superb 2 stone 3 lbs in less than 5 months. Her dress size which was previously size 14-16 is now a model-like size 10. Katalin certainly has no issues with photos any longer and even admits she was tempted to have professional photos of her gorgeous body taken.

Gone are the days of hiding her shape in figure disguising clothes! “None of the clothes I wore looked smart on me, I tried to wear clothes that made me look slimmer, and I was a fake. I had no confidence and tried to hide my body.”

Katalin admits her diet was less than exemplary before joining the plans; she made the cardinal sin of excluding fruit and vegetables from her grocery list and substituted them with fatty desserts. “My diet was not good before I joined. I hardly ate any fruit or vegetables – I just forgot to buy them! I ate lots of cakes and biscuits and I constantly picked and grazed during the day.”

The bad eating habits that made her gain weight in the past have been replaced with healthier ones that she can stick with for life. The progress Katalin has made, and the confidence she has in her new shape will prevent her from allowing any weight to creep back on.

"I am proud that I have done it. I never thought I would be strong enough to stick with the plan from start to finish. And here I am over 2 stone lighter. Hurray! I still like chocolate and cakes, but I keep it under control. I treat myself once, maximum twice per week and I only eat bite size portions of the treat. I replaced the chocolate with fruit at other times.”

Katalin has managed to pick up a trick or two on the diet. She knows that instead of satisfying cravings with the unhealthy options there is always a healthier alternative available. “I always have an apple or another fruit in my bag, so if I feel hungry or peckish instead of rushing to the nearest shop and buying rubbish, I have a healthier option available.”

The importance of exercise has not gone unnoticed by Katalin - she realises she doesn’t need to be Paula Radcliffe to improve her fitness and weight loss. “I never forget to exercise. It does not need to be a strenuous routine, as little as 20 minutes at home is adequate.”

Katalin’s new found confidence has caused her to make a courageous decision to return to the world of education. She is studying in college part time and hopes to have a successful career in the future. “I am starting to study part time for a new career, now I am not scared to be around other people anymore.”

Katalin realises that weight loss is not solely about losing weight it can influence many other areas of your life. She is now a healthier, fitter and happier individual. She may have lost weight but has managed to gain so much as a result. “You don’t lose weight to put it back on again, like playing yo-yo. You do it for a reason – to be healthier, more confident, also of course to look and feel better!.”
